Melanie Brunette

Melanie Ann Brunette, 61, of Bryan, formerly of Beaumont, passed away at her home Saturday afternoon, May 15, 2010.  Interment will be in the New Baden Cemetery in New Baden, Texas. Melanie was born in Bryan, Texas to Philip and Mabel Smith Brunette. She graduated from French High School in Beaumont and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Lamar University. Melanie dedicated her life to teaching children in Beaumont I.S.D. spending most of her teaching career at Odem Middle School and Central High School. She retired in May of 2007 and moved back to Bryan n June 2009.  She was proud of her Teacher of the Year Award. She specialized her talents working with the Gifted and Talented Students and sponsored the UIL Gifted and Talented Future Problem Solving Team winning the State Championship one year followed by a 1st Runner Up a second year. She was a member of the Golden Triangle Writers Guild and was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Beaumont before joining First Baptist Church in Bryan. Since living in Bryan, Melanie has become a member of the Brazos Valley Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, a Mentor for the Job Force Training for Abused Women, and a member of several Bible Study Groups. She is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marian and Tim Romere and their daughter Lindsey of Sour Lake, TX and Marsha Brunette Toole and her son David of Beeville, TX; step-mother, Peggy Brunette of Paris, TX; one step-brother, Kelly Broussard; two step-sisters, Karla Broussard and Kriste Broussard; two aunts and numerous cousins.

Darlene Connor

Darlene, D.D. Anne Conner Blakesley, 60, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. She was born July 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mary Frances Gulli Conner and William Coda Conner. Darlene grew up in the Beaumont area, moved to Seattle in 1990 where she lived for many years and resided in Lumberton for the last fifteen months. She graduated from French High School Alumni in 1967 and was a retired Human Resource Manager for K-Mart with twenty-seven years of service. Survivors include her husband of nine years, Robert Blakesley; children, Christina Kanakis, Christy Brandelli and her husband Brian, Jessica Blakesley, Bradley Blakesley, and Brandon Blakesley; sister, Cheryl Conner; niece, Kim Conner-Heck; sister, Sharon Conner Langston and her husband Larry; nephew, Cody Seay and his wife Lydia; brother, Billy Conner and his wife Melinda, nephew, Coda Conner; aunt, Elizabeth Coons; and cousin, Richard Coons and his wife Carol. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Accidental drowning in conjunction with an automobile accident.

Marilyn Dent (Wright)

August 9, 1949 - February 15, 2004

Marilyn was born to Mavis and I.O. Dent and  was the middle child between two brothers, Gilbert and Mike.  In her Senior year at French, she was voted "Wittiest" in her Class.  She was a member of numerous Clubs and Organizations at French including the Buffalo Belles.  She went on to graduate from Lamar and became an outstanding middle school teacher.  She married Dennis Wright and had two children, Chad and Amanda.  Marilyn was a life long member of North End Methodist/Wesley United Methodist Church.  She was an avid, loyal fan of the Astros and took many trips with "the girls" to watch them play.  Mariyln was one of the most loyal, enthusiastic, friendly, fun loving people anyone could ever know.

Bill Donley

July 30, 1949 - October 12, 2016

William Donley III passed away October 12, 2016 with his two sons and wife of 43 years by his bedside.

William, who many knew as "Wild Bill Donley" was born July 30th, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas.  He had a passion for music and was a fantastic and well respected drummer with knowledge of percussion.  He spent many years off shore working as a chef and as a litchen manager in Houston, Texas at Captain Benny's.  A love for sports and family; he will be deeply missed.

Bill is survived by his two sons, William Luther Donley and Stephen Eliot Donley, along with his two grandchildren, Sofia and Stephen; sister, Karen Donley and nephew, Brad.; wife of 43 years, Joan Flowers Donley and many close friends and cousins.  We will all miss and cherish the moments with him very much.  Until we meet again, let GOD hold you in the palm of His hands.  We love you and miss you!

 

Paula Dorsey (Sanford)

Paula Sanford, 57, of Vidor died December 23, 2006 at her home.  A native of Beaumont and a lifelong resident of Vidor, she worked for Texas Total Home Care as a nurse's aid for thirteen years.  Paula is survived by her daughters, Melissa Werner and her husband, Billy, Michelle Conn and her husband, Jimmy and Brandi Guidry and her husband, Jason all of Vidor.  Kimberly Williamson and her husband, Daryl of Nacogdoches; sister, Barbara Johnson of Vidor; brothers, Butch Dorsey of Fort Worth, Mike, Mark and Tim Dorsey of Vidor and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
